Uti symptoms no infection

For the last two weeks I have had uti symptoms with no infection. Vaginal swabs have come back negative. I'm so uncomfortable and in pain, gp has referred me for a ultrasound too but isn't for another month. I'm 31, smear due in July. Anyone had similar? I'm so fed up.

You have my sympathy. I have uti symptoms and have just finished a 3 day course of antibiotics from the pharmacy. Test strip result came back negative from the surgery this morning but I know it’s not cleared completely. Still feel the need to pass urine all the time and dull ache in bladder area.

Yes for over two years; no infection was ever found in the many samples I had tested. I had intermittent pelvic pain. After referral to a really lovely Urologist, he diagnosed me with a spasming bladder. He prescribed Solifenicin to control the bladder spasms and it took a while to make a difference, but it worked. I took it for a year, had a year off but now my bladder is telling me it's full after half a cup of (decaf) tea, so I'm back on them. So annoying, but I'm relieved it was nothing more sinister.

was going to say ? Vaginal atrophy …..can sometimes get it in your 30s
or an embedded uti? ….which nhs tests wouldn’t pick up

Hi @LetsBekindx, they shouldn't be doing swabs for a UTI! They should be sending off a urine sample to the lab.
