Bleeding after sex

Hi

My partner and I hadn't had sex in quite a while...9 months to be exact! We are new parents, and life has just been very tiring! We have recently got our sex life back on track, although I have been bleeding after sex. It has come on similar to a medium flow period. Has anyone else experienced this before? I'm considering booking a doctors appt, but I don't know if this is just a "normal thing" to happen.

Book the appointment.

I'd definitely get in to see the GP ASAP

Northumberlandlass · 14/04/2024 20:48

Yep - get an appointment booked.

Probably nothing but definitely worth checking out. I had similar, was sent for an ultrasound and they confirmed it was nothing serious. But please do go to the doctor.

Book an appointment with your doctor.

Please make an appointment. It's one of the questions I ask ladies when I'm doing their smears and pill checks, as it should always be investigated. Usually turns out to be nothing serious, but better to check.

DistinguishedSocialCommentator · 14/04/2024 20:54

Always get it checked out and more often that not its nothing or easily sorted but get it checked

JaneAustenshandbag · 14/04/2024 20:57

Please book an appointment. Are you up to date with your smears?

IWantOut29 · 14/04/2024 21:00

I'd make an appointment just in case but its probably nothing

I was with DC's father for 7 years and bled everytime we had sex. I got it checked out and I'm pretty sure its because he was reaching my cervix or somthing like that

Had a few partners after him and it only happened again with another partner who was well endowed too

Yes, I am up to date on my smears. I had a biopsy done on my cervix a number of years ago, and abnormal cells were found. They got removed, but I will definitely book a doctors appointment tomorrow. Thank you

Cervical erosion is common, benign and this is a classic symptom, but it’s definitely a symptom to get checked out as everyone is saying.
