Getting hold of scan reports done via NHS?

Hi, I’ve recently had a couple of scans and a hysteroscopy via NHS due to heavy bleeding caused by fibroids and suspected endometriosis. Had coil fitted and it expelled itself and have just found out I can’t have another appointment until the end of September to look at alternative treatments. Saw GP who was an absolute waste of time and dismissive of me, recording “heavy periods” as the issue rather than the whole host of other issues.

Anyway, out of desperation I’m looking into going private which I can’t really afford but I want a quality of life back.

Just wondering if anyone knows how I can get hold of the scan reports that I’ve already had as I don’t really want to fork out to pay for them again when they were done so recently

I would love to know. My situation isnt exactly the same, but I had an MRI brain scan last February. I still have not had the results, not sent through to GP who have washed their hands and say they cant chase this for me, have to go through to the consultatants secretary who works a Thursday 1-1.15 every 6th week, have asked for them, still nothing arrived.

You should be able to request your notes directly from the hospital. In Wales each health board has a contact email to request records through.

Having same problem anything over 6 months can’t get hold off. A scan in May 2023 never been able to get hold off to know anything. Been fighting gps for long time regards nhs app access.

Access to health records from the hospital you were scanned at. The process should be available on the hospital website. If not try ringing switch board and asking for them. Failing that contact PALS.
