Late period - any ideas?

So I'm currently 9 days late. I've never been late before, besides maybe the odd day or 2 here and there, certainly never 4+ days late, let alone 9. My husband had a vasectomy a few years ago and that's our only current BC. I've done 2 pregnancy tests, 1 on the 3rd day being late and the other on the 6th day of being late. Both negative.

I've been pregnant twice before and both times instantly knew I was pregnant and had very distinct symptoms early on - certainly don't feel pregnant now. Although I feel very much like I'm due on. For the last 2 weeks I have suffered with heavy, swollen, achy legs and lower belly (water retention - usual for me in the few days before my period) lower backache, heavy boobs and I feel extremely emotional. Again, all very normal for me in 2-3 days leading up to period, but this has been going on for 2 weeks now. I am constantly crying and I'm very angry, which is not like me.

I have had quite a lot of stress lately, but I've been through far worse stress in the past without it affecting my periods. There are no other changes either such as weight loss/gain, exercise/nutrition etc.

Its really frustrating constantly feeling like I'm due on but no sign of my period! I feel lousy.

Anybody had this before? Any ideas what could be going on?

FYI: I'm 35, couple of stone overweight but otherwise very healthy and relatively active. Ex smoker but haven't smoked in almost a decade.

have you had covid recently? when i've had a covid jab or covid itself my cycle has gone crazy for a couple of months - think 40 days followed by 19.

As I've got older, over 35, I've started having the odd long cycle, either where ovulation was delayed or I assume I've not ovulated, think I've been 10 or so days late a couple of times. Think it's quite common as you get older op or ovulation can be delayed due to illness or stress therefore your cycle ends up being longer.

Thank you both for your replies!

Re covid, not that I know of, but last time I had it I was asymptomatic, so who knows, possibly!

It could possibly just be me getting older 🙈 oh the joys eh!? I'm quite in tune with my body usually, so tend to know roughly when I ovulate, but I have been very busy this month so definitely easily could have missed late ovulation etc.

Fingers crossed it shows up soon as I feel bloody miserable and if my belly gets anymore bloated I'll look like mr blobby 😂
