Hi,

I'm currently on day 48 of my cycle, period usually 28-32 days but this time it just never arrived. Latest its ever been is 41 days. I had some spotting on CD20-23 which could have been a period but it never really started and was very very light. I'm 42 and definitely not pregnant. It has felt like its tried to start a few times with cramping, nausea but then given up and now all ive been left with is this very bloated and tight feeling stomach. It's not painful, just feels tight and is bloated, but confusingly is soft to touch and cant feel any masses and I'm thankfully not in any pain, it just feels uncomfortable and i look 3 months pregnant! I have experienced a bit of waking up feeling hot, so perhaps this is menopause?! I just cant believe the state of my stomach right now!

Ive had some blood tests done they are checking for thyroid, CA125, Prolactin and pregnancy. Prolactin and Thyroid have come back as normal, the other results they wont let me see on the NHS app yet. I have an ultrasound booked privately for tuesday next week.

Has any experienced this before?

It could well be the start of peri. When did you mum start?

Im not sure as she died when I was 14 so I only have a half sister to compare it to and she was 50s when she went through menopause. I just appear to have grown a dress size overnight my stomach is suddenly much bigger. I used to get this before my period, then my period would come and it would go back to normal. With the absence of a period its just remained bloated!
