C Section Scar - struggling to heal

Hey everyone

I’m 22 days post EMCS, got an infection about 8 days after in which I spent 3 nights in hospital on anti biotic drip, then discharged on orals. Infection burst out the wound and I had a hole in the incision which has now closed up so no longer leaking fluid anymore. I can still feel the incision rubbing on my underwear (I am wearing massive pants) and I’m just unsure if one side is looking angry again (the side where the hole was) sorry graphic pic incoming.. I am seeing the nurse tomorrow so will see what she thinks.. anyone else had issues with incision?

Thanks!

Hi I’m currently going through the exact same thing. I think your scar looks like it’s healing and hopefully past all of the infection now! It does look a little red but it could be that the area will take a little longer for the colour to return to normal.
I am also going back to get mine checked as the pain has returned so it’s a good idea to keep getting it checked if you’re worried!

So annoying isn’t it! I want to get back to normal but scared to do anything that will delay the healing! Hope yours gets better soon

I’m the same, I actually felt fairly good after the c section and was able to move around easily but this infection keeps lingering and making me feel worse.

Hope your appointment goes well and the infection has passed!

The same thing happened to me a few months back I got extra large wound dressings and I continued to wear them for a few weeks and it made a massive difference keeping the area dry, free from sweat and stopped any clothes rubbing.

Oh that’s a good idea, I always thought a dressing would be better but the doctor said it’s best to let it air, will mention to the nurse later!

Yeah they said that to me too and then told me to keep patting it dry throughout the day with paper hand towels, letting it get damp with sweat ( DD was in nicu for weeks was like a furnace I'm not just an incredibly sweaty person😂) and then constantly rubbing it dry seemed counter productive to letting it heal the dressings made a huge difference.

Just got back from nurse there, she said it’s showing no signs of infection and gave me silver dressings to put on it. But they aren’t sticky so just to be placed on? Never told me how often to change either 😂 she gave me 5 but I’ve googled and it says change every 2-3 days but I’ll need to take them off to shower and don’t want to put a used one back on. Have ordered large dressings off Amazon and think I’ll go between that and the silver.

Maybe try stick them on with some micropore if you have any or use them when you know you won't be moving about so much and hopefully undies keep it in place. I hope dressings work for you and make you a bit more comfortable.

Hi OP, I heal slowly due to underactive thyroid and the absolute best thing for me is colloidal silver.

I get this one from Amazon and I use the spray bottle to spray liberally onto the wound.

Every time I've used it - stitches out too early after wound to my foot, c-section incision, horrible infected cyst - there's been a major improvement in 24 hours and total healing in 2-3 days.

Really hope it might help - wish you all the best Flowers

Hi, this may not be helpful immediately, but I used the silicon strips that help fade your scar on mine. They’re huge, waterproof and last a week. They also strangely gave me a sense of comfort that I had an extra layer of protection in place. Hope it all is going well!

Hi, how did this work out for you?

I feel like my scar isn't healing either. I'm 3 weeks in.
