Help please! I have got the worse ever attack of thrush.

Been on 10 day course of strong antibiotics which is just finishing.

Day 3 I get some probiotics and up the kefir but not enough to ward off thrush. Plus constipation. Damn it!!

Got thrush tablet and cream yesterday. Yet today it’s getting worse.

Just looking at Amazon. Could get pessary delivered tomorrow. Worth a go? Or just keep up with the cream. I’ve got a coil in.

I think the fact I’m dry down there cos of peri menopause isn’t helping. Any suggestions for that?

I'm a right evil cow at the moment cos of this. It feels on fire!

Thank you.

Are you sure it’s thrush? It could be the start of vaginal atrophy. Stinging, burning etc. It’s easily sorted with HRT cream x

I have never heard of that before. Possibly?

Im dry down there anyway last month or so but just assumed thrush now cos of antibiotics.

If I was you I’d use Canesten for 7 days. If it’s thrush that should clear it. If things are still stinging then it’s likely atrophy. It’s caused by a drop in estrogen x

Thrushhelp24 · 30/03/2024 20:07

Im so stupid! When I was really ill I ended up not replacing my estrogen patch! They won’t have helped. I reckon it’s a combination of both now I’ve had a quick google.

Thank you.

Just use the Canesten for 7 days. That will clear any thrush caused by antibiotics. See if you’re still stinging after that x

You can use the Ovestin alongside the Fluconazole thrush tablets - you can buy a one off 150mg tablet over the counter.

@Pigeonqueen Yes. Good idea x
