How effective is a laparoscopy for endo?

I have had endometriosis for 30 years but I am really suffering from it now. If I were to have a laparoscopy to treat it, how effective is that as a treatment? A friend suggested it might be only a very temporary treatment and the problem might even come back in months.

I had mine and it offered relief for a couple of years, it does depend on your body but I'd say it's worth it

I’ve had endometriosis removed (mild stage 1-2) by laser but excision surgery can be also effective.

I had it removed in 2016 it was very advanced and I have had no problems since regarding symptoms

Excision surgery is the gold standard I believe which will make more of a difference?

Stage 3 removed by lap in 2006 - best thing I ever did - never had symptoms again.Had a hysterectomy last year (not related to endo) and was told there were some endo lesions found.
