Irregular/heavy bleeding, mirena or something else...

Hi, so I've had very irregular bleeding for the last 3 months.. I've had my mirena coil in for just over 2 years (this is my second one, my first one I had in for 4 years before having it removed so I could conceive - I experienced no periods the whole time I had it in) since it was initially fitted and I got past the settling in period I've only experienced light spotting at the time my normal period would be due (my periods have always been very regular) so to experience what I am now has been quite alarming.

It started at the beginning of January when I experienced spotting at the beginning of the month (my periods always fall at the end and this is when my spotting usually occurs), I didn't think much of it at first but the bleeding became enough to need a pad and lasted around 3 days, 2 weeks later it happened again and then again at the end of the month for 3-4 days, by the beginning of February I was bleeding again for a few days once it stopped I noticed I started bleeding after being sexually active with my husband (everytime) the bleeding would continue through to the following day then stop again, by the middle of February I was bleeding every other day, some days more like spotting and others more of a flow. During this time I started to become extremely fatigued (I have 3 children, work and life is busy so I'm always drained to an extent but this was even more so), I'd also noticeably lost weight without even trying (everyone has been commenting on how slim I've got - obviously congratulating me on it too likes it's a great achievement) it promoted me to get on the scales and I'd lost way over a stone. I've also experienced a lot of cramping in my abdomen, groin, legs and lower back... so all of this obviously started to really worry me and cause me great concern so I booked in to see my gp. I saw my gp on Friday the 1st of March where they done some swabs for STIs, infection & tsh, they also booked me in for a blood test which I attended on the 7th of March... the swabs came back fine which I knew they would considering what they were for & my bloods were okay too. So now I am just awaiting for and ultra & vaginal scan which I have been booked in for on the 11th April - seems forever away still as I'm so stressed about what's going on with my body.

This month I have still experienced bleeding at the beginning of the month a break of bleeding for a week then straight back to it stopping and starting every other day. The last 3 days have been the worst since this whole thing started though, the flow is extremely heavy, I'm filling the pads every couple of hours and I've even had a couple clots, the cramping is constant and I'm experiencing headaches and dizziness. I feel like I may need to contact the Dr's to say that it has progressed but not sure there is much they will do with me having an upcoming appointment relating to this.

So the real question is, has anyone experienced anything similar to this that has a mirena coil? (Or experienced this without a mirena and it was some other health condition)
I forgot to mention my Dr said my coil looked fine when I had the swabs done and didn't seem out of place...

Sorry for the long winded thread! Thank you for taking the time to read.

How old are you?
When I started bleeding with the coil in it’s because it had moved down, so wasn’t doing what it’s supposed to do.

I'm 30,
Did your Dr pick up that it had moved as obviously mine told me that mine seemed fine.

No, it was the scan that showed it was out of place.

Well like I said my scan is the 11th of April so atleast I know it can pick it up if there is an issue with the coil, what I'm hoping will be the case in this situation and not something else. Thank you for the response
