Endometriosis?

Hi everyone, so I'm at my wits end, I'm in so much pain and such heavy bleeding. since Christmas eve I've only had 2-3 weeks of no bleeding. The doctor recently put me on the mini pill to try and stabilise my periods. I've been in bed the last 4 days in so much pain I'm soaking through pads every hour or two. I'm on transanamic acid to try stop the bleeding and mefac to help with the pain but both are not helping. I had a ultrasound a year ago to rule out cysts and had a hystroscopy last November to check for abnormalities. Both came back fine, so now it leads me to endometriosis I seem to have a lot of the symptoms and I'm wondering any one with endometriosis has a similar story with mine and have anything that could possibly help with the pain?

Thanks.

For reference I will be going back to my gp sometime next week.

(To get you through until you can see the doctor for anything stronger) Are you keeping up with regular paracetamol and ibuprofen? I know individually they don’t take the edge off but keeping up with them can really help. Remember to take them with food or something to protect your stomach.

A TENs machine can be amazing for endo pain. And alternating ice and heat packs.

I definitely will try I've been a mess I've been using codeine but I hate the way it makes you feel! I will start using ibuprofen. Never even thought of a tens machine will also look into them thanks :)

Sympathies OP, it’s really rotten. I hope your GP is helpful. I saw mine last month to ask about investigating possible endo and she said it wasn’t important to try and diagnose because I don’t want children. Keep up the meds regularly so you don’t end up chasing the pain. I second the tens machine.

The mini pill is bloody awful. I had to stop taking it because I was constantly bleeding and I just couldn't live with it. So sorry you're experiencing this

That's really interesting. I'm currently seeing a gynae consultant privately, who whilst helping me with my HRT is also planning to do a lapraroscopy based on my history of heavy periods and cramps whilst on the mirena coil.

He seemed to think it would be useful to find out if I have endo, despite clearly being almost menopausal!

So I'd say try and find the funds to pay for a good private gynae if that's an option, you may find a more sympathetic and helpful response.

Unfortunately my GP seems to be very unsympathetic, I have asked him multiple times if there was a natural or any other way to stop or to turn my bleeding back to normal and he could not answer my question! The Pill seems to be thrown at me every time and it's definitely masking the symptoms or possibly making things worse!

Oh no that's awful! I have 1 daughter who's 2 and a half and I want more kids so I'm so scared that the longer he keeps leaving me off I'm going to struggle!
