Odd pain feeling during period

Aside from the usual period pain, I sometimes get a odd intense feeling in my upper stomach area that almost takes my breath away (not quite literally, but if I’m standing up it’s all I can do to need to sit/lie down).

It’s in the centre of my torso, just below the centre where my bra sits - so upper stomach area I guess. It’s an intense unpleasant feeling - not pain or nausea exactly, but feels awful and I just want to lie or sit down. It takes my breath away with how horrible it makes me feel when combined with period pain in my lower abdomen.

I’m 50 and think I’m in perimenopause but only related to periods, as no other symptoms other than period changes (alternates between heavy/light some
months), and pain and discomfort are increasing to back to the symptoms I had as a teen (back and leg pains, diarrhoea, feeling terrible and OTC painkillers are not as effective some months).

I don’t want to go on the pill again or have a coil etc, but I wondered if anyone had had a similar feeling?

I no longer have periods (hysterectomy) but can relate to what you are describing. I had stage 4 endometriosis and I presume it was connected to that. Probably doesn’t help you but I didn’t want to read and run.
