Am I going to get a period with the Slynd pill?

Hoping for a bit of reassurance on what to expect .. my first period due in a few days and it’s the first once since being on the pill called Slynd. I was on Decogestrel previously and when my first period came I carried on bleeding for 3 weeks so I came off it. Hoping this time won’t be as bad. I’m 46 btw if that helps and using it primarily for contraception.

I've never been on Slynd, but was on Eloine (containing the same progesterone) for years, taking continuously and didn't have periods. Slynd is well known for stopping periods, there's a facebook group for those on it to discuss their experiences. (1) Slynd/Slinda (Drospirenone) support group | Facebook

Can I ask, are you in the UK? I'd love to get it as part of HRT, but there seems to be problems getting it in this country, even thought it has been announced as available now on prescription. Best of luck with it, it's ingredients worked for me x

@ALLABOUTTHEWORDS yes I’m on the U.K.. and got it though I had to wait as seemed to be a shortage. Have come off now and gone on mini pill as don’t want period when I go on holiday! Thanks for your response though 😊

Good for you, nothing worse. Thanks, that means that it is possible, will keep trying! 🤞😁

Has anyone else managed to get this yet?
I've been waiting for this to be available for over a year as I didn't get on with the progesterone in desogestrel. I started Eloine in the meantime and actually very happy with it, but I am at slightly high risk for combined pills due to weight and smoking history so should really switch. It's controlling my PMDD really well though.

@RagzRebooted i managed to get this prescribed and took pharmacy a few days to order in. I’ve come off of now and gone onto combined pill as don’t want period on holiday. I might go back on it after the summer.

Fair enough. How did you find it when you were on it?
Desogestrel gave me awful anxiety and mood symptoms.
Eloine is the first combined pill I've really got on with and it has the same progesterone (drosperinone) as Slynd, but maybe I need the estradiol part too as it seems to be really helping the PMDD. Unfortunately it gives me a raging appetite and swollen boobs, so not all good!

Hi

just wondering how you are getting on with this pill? I’ve been prescribed it alongside estrogel patch for peri but I’m scared to start it! Worried about side effects, especially related to mental health.

Thanks

Hello, did you take this in the end? I’d be really interested to know whether you had any mental health side effects if so? Thanks

Secondstart1001 · 24/02/2026 22:58

@Pip1402 I only used it for a month then changed over to the mini pill that controls the period thankfully.

Hi all, anyone still takjng SLYND? I switched over from combined due to concerns with estrogen, high BP and being over 35 y/o. What was your experiences with breakthrough bleeding? When did it start and end?
