I had heart surgery two weeks ago and they went in through my groin. After the surgery I had lots of vaginal bleeding. The nurse insisted it was my period and I said it definitely isn't because I have the mirena coil and haven't had a period in 4 months! It was bright red blood. The surgeon came to see me and said this was abnormal and that I'd need to be seen by gynae and have an abdominal and pelvic scan. Nurse didn't get anything sorted and I was sent home after a couple of hours.

After going home i had extreme abdominal pain and the bleeding continued. i could barely walk so i went to A&E. they did a urine test which showed positive for infection so i was sent home with antibiotics to treat the UTI (fair enough).

Pain continued to get worse i had even finished the antibiotics. Went back to A&E and sat there for 8 hours in so much pain. was told there may be an abscess where the incision was made and given antibiotics and sent home. Gynae once again did not come see me to check why i was bleeding. Oh and also they said they'd arrange for a transvaginal scan of the pelvis and abdomen woohoo in two days time woohoo!

Went to the hospital for the scan at 11:30 very happy that id finally know whats going on. The sonographer refused to do a scan of pelvis and abdomen as apparently there wasn't enough info about why i needed the scan. Was then told to wait in A&E and see the dr again to ask for another referral for the scan. I sat there for 11 hours and finally they decided to do a CT scan of my leg and found a 5cm Haematoma. All good i went home!

That night the bleeding got much worse it was bright red blood i was panicking. Went to the GP who then referred me for an urgent transvaginal scan which is within 2-4 weeks. Why do hospitals not take people seriously? I have been suffering from so much pain and weakness 😥 just needed a rant sorry

Their so so bad, have we reached the point of self diagnosis I wonder. Can the clinicians not read anymore.

How do you sit in a hospital on the wrong level of levothyroxine with them knowing this, how do you leave hospital with a problem with urine only to be picked up by diabetes team 4 days later. I could cry never mind think I’m going mad.

Saw second disinterested male gp who despite the discharge paperwork saying no fibroid nor polyp found, only wants to tell me as yes you was scanned with one 20th May 23 perhaps the fibroid couldn’t be seen at surface level during a hysteroscopy which I didn’t know you had until you entered the room 2 minutes ago and told me! Again how did you leave a hospital with a discharge letter containing errors. REALLY!

I’ve had a smear come back saying not Hpv positive (this year) and go on, have a guess what the silly man said, let’s wait for the biopsy results.

When I asked for proof whether I have even had a biopsy, do you know what my surgery done - printed me off a copy of the discharge letter.

Must have physic power - told me I can’t possibly have a dull back ache for gynae problems.

PALS formal complaint tomorrow. I really hoped not to do this. The last GP told me I wasn’t being fair to expect answers in a couple of days it has now been two weeks and the consultant is on their holidays.

I contacted PALS whilst I was sat in hospital for 11 hours, after two hours a nurse came to get me. She apologised that the ultrasound wasn't done and that she found out I contacted PALS. Anyway I think they did a CT scan since I had contacted PALS and they did mention that I'd go home with a 'diagnosis'.
