Hello, I am having a hysteroscopy and laparoscopy done this week. First time having either done.

Just looking for anyone to share their experiences. I had a long recovery after my c section and had ongoing abdominal for approx a year and a half after so very worried about the pain following the procedure. Could anyone share their experience with me, I have a 4 and 2 year old but partner will be taking time off to help.

It'll depend on exactly what the laparoscopy involves - eg. a quick look in and not much else is usually quick to recover from.... excision of a load of endometriosis/excision of a cyst, etc will take longer. Your team are probably the best people who'll be able to give you an idea about pain based on what they're expecting to find/do exactly.

Are you having them both at the same time?

I've had 2 hysteroscopies. First one they asked me more than once if I was sure I didn't want to rebook with a general anaesthetic. Second one I took the GA! Recovery was fine for both, period type cramps for a couple of days iirc. If you have general you need someone to drive you home and to get with you for 24 hours, plus was advised no work/driving/looking after small children for that time.

Only laparoscopy I've had was for appendix removal nearly 30 years ago so I can't remember much about that to advise!
