Illness flaring up endo?

Hi all! I'm 25 and have recently been diagnosed with endometrosis (on the wait list for a laparoscopy) after struggling with my periods for years.
Though I fell ill recently with tonsillitis, and I mean really ill. I left it two days and my GP said it was the worst case she'd ever seen in an adult. My throat was covered in white lumps, I got an ear infection, an abcess on my tooth, sweltering fever ... it was horrendeous. I was prescribed Clarithoromycin (1000mg a day) as an antbioitic, and although it healed the infection, I've been triggered with the worst kind of stomach pain.

I'm bloated, awfully. My womb has that full feeling you get a day or so before a period, when you know it's going to be heavy, and I've swollen up so much around my belly. It's really uncomfortable, and I'm currently sat on a hot water bottle, with one on my back and one strapped to my front. I've taken cocodemol and naproxen (both prescribed pain killers) and eaten really clean the past few days, and it hasn't shifted in a fortnight.

My question is, has anyone else experienced this before? Antibiotics triggering bloating and women pain? Or even being tremedously sick triggering endo pain? I haven't spoken to the GP, as there will be nothing they can do. Though I know there are strength in numbers and women that might be able to offer some insight!

Thank you!

Hi,

Hope you're feeling better.

For me I find that antibiotics cause issues with my bowels and as my endo is close to the bowels and everything is stuck together, I would find that anything that affected my bowels would also affect my endo flare ups.

The pain relief also causes constipation which can make things worse with the endo flare ups. What I usually do is, take some stool softener (not a laxative) to get things moving and help with that heavy pulling feeling.
Have you tried a tens machine? I was sceptical but it really does help with the pain
