Any doctors here? Would antibiotics, and medication for UTI affect STI test results?

32F, generally healthy, sexually active (but not for past month).
Don't smoke, rarely drink, no recreational drugs. No meds.

I've been experiencing UTI-like symptoms for just over a month now (have posted about this recently) and have been on several rounds of antibiotics. While they initially seemed to work, I'm still getting strange, tingling, burning sensations after I urinate. I'm taking pain relief, including these tablets specifically for urinary issues (I think they just make your urine less acidic, but not sure?). In the meantime, I've also ordered at-home STI tests for ureaplasma and mycoplasma, just to check, as I understand they can also cause urinary issues in women.

Would the Azo medication, as well as the antibiotics I'm taking for the suspected UTI (nitrofurantoin), affect the results of the STI tests? I planned to send my sample off today.

Thanks!

Hi, please listen to this brilliant award winning new podcast on chronic urinary tract infections (CUTIs), highly recommend if you're wanting to learn more about the little know topic of CUTIs. Its brilliantly researched and a really important topic everyone should be aware of that aims to help women advocate for themselves in the face of stubborn GPs and a medical world that has historically ignored womens health.
