Changes to period

Hi

I'm 33 and having a really weird period, my last period was 10 days late and now this one is quite light and mucusy. Does anyone know why this might be?

I am not on birth control
I'm overweight but trying to diet
Highly unlikely to be pregnant.

Other than this, I have had regular fairly heavy periods for years. So I am confused!

I’ve not experienced that before, but as I got into my 30’s my periods did change, so it could be that. Are you up to date on smear tests? If you have any other symptoms “down there”, I would make a GP appointment. Otherwise, keep an eye on it and book a future one if you’re experiencing more of the same. If, by “unlikely to be pregnant”, you still think there is a chance, it might be worth taking a test, just in case. If you are pregnant, you’d want to get on folic acid asap.

Yes up to date with smear tests
Just took a pregnancy test and it's negative.
I will see how I get on and call the GP if it's the same next month or any other bleeding

No idea but I’m a few years older and mine have been wonky for a couple of months too. I found no answers here or anywhere else.

My periods have been predictable with a 28 day cycle for as long as I can remember, they last 4 days (day 1: higher volume, bright blood, day 2: significantly reduced volume, blood is bright but might turn darker, day 3: very little, brown, day 4: a non-event, very little, brown, only a bit worse than discharge), a mix of clots/thick blood and thinner blood from the onset but mostly gloopier. They are ALWAYS the same.

Last month my period was 3 days early, brown, clumpy from the onset until the end. (I did a pregnancy test as it was so off but this was negative). This month my period was 2/3 days late, every day was like day 1 and it was still going a bit with bright red and thin blood 8 days later.

It’s so odd when you have very predictable patterns and they change - and hard to convey to people who have a more varying experience.

Anyway I haven’t helped at all so sorry about that 😂 but I stand in solidarity/confusion with you!!
