Mini pill for heavy periods

I’ve been prescribed the mini pill for heavy periods caused by fibroids. (Had an operation to get rid of the fibroids but they only got about half. They are too big to fit a coil so trying the pill before I move to more drastic measures.)
I’ve been on it for about 6 weeks and my periods have become completely unpredictable, like non existent for 20 hours a day and then massive flooding for the remaining 4 hours along with pain and bloating. Then on and off like this for days.
Has anyone been prescribed more than 1 pill per day? There seems to be some evidence that that works. Or should i give it a few more weeks?

Which pill is this

I am on Cezarette and have found it to be amazing for controlling my heavy periods but I think it took a good few months for it to really settle - 6 weeks is very early days (sorry). I’ve been on it for years now and don’t have any bleeding at all.

@Somerandomgirl Desogestrel

I’ve been on Desogesterol for years- no periods, it’s fantastic. It did take a few months to settle though. My DD has the implant as well as taking Desogesterol which has stopped her bleeding mostly. For her, the mini pill alone or the implant alone still meant unpredictable bleeding. GP said ok to take both.

As others have said it takes couple of months... but with degostrel u never know.. i was bleeding quite often on it, switched to noriday, that seems to help bleed less, but back to desogestrel now as noriday dont help with other symptoms i have... so see how it goes, if its just to control bleeding maybe try noriday...
