Think I have been experiencing thrush, bought Canestest to check.

Am I an idiot? In step 5 it says does no not touch your vaginal entrance but then it talks about swabbing the outer skin of the vagina.

I always believed the hole was the vagina?

Am I right in assuming I should be swabbing the inner vulval area?

I got an A in Biology at A levels!

It says make sure it doesn't touch anything before insertion into the vaginal entrance. It needs to go into your vagina without touching the area around the entrance.

Fudge! I just did it and swiped my inner labia. What a waste.

Thanks, wish I had waited for your reply. Guess I have to buy another test

It clearly says to part the labia to expose the vagina and then insert the swab into the vagina to collect the sample without coming in contact with any surrounding skin

I think it's very obvious what it says.

the “until the handle reaches the outer vagina skin” threw me off!

So dumb of me

You can still use the test, has it already changed colour? Thrush can be present in the labia so if the test shows it’s present then you don’t need another test. If it hasn’t changed colour, I would use it again to swab the inside of your vagina.
