A&E for chest pain?

Am I being over the top? Had chest pain since Tuesday. Feel a bit ridiculous sitting here. Currently surrounded by a lot of people ( mainly men) doing a lot of audible moaning and groaning. Considering going home and hoping for the best. I’m 39, bmi 26, don’t smoke.

Hopefully all is ok but you won't know unless you get checked out.

Have you been triaged?

Had an ECG, bloods?

When in doubt check it out. Always have CP assessed by a professional.

Nurse took my bp which was low. Think that’s better than high isn’t it? Said there was 4 people ahead of me to see the doctor for an ecg and bloods. Hate hospitals.

If you’d called 111 for advice they would have sent an ambulance. Unless you absolutely know what is causing it there really is no option other than to stick it out and get an ecg to make absolutely sure it’s not something heart related.

Yes that’s why I didn’t ring them. I would be mortified to have come in an ambulance. There is a man who is literally screaming across from me and I’ve noticed my chest hurts more so maybe it’s anxiety related.

Definitely wise to get it checked out.

I had similar, had it checked out - bloods, ecg etc - turned out to be Costochondritis. Very painful but thankfully non life threatening.

Hope you feel better soon @toomanyleggings

How are you @toomanyleggings

toomanyleggings · 09/03/2024 21:17

I am still here. ECG was normal, waiting on a chest x ray and bloods. 7 hours so far… thank you for asking

Hopefully not too much longer for you now. Hang on in there.

All clear, just some inflammation. Phew. Least I can go home now
