This might be a stupid question but I'd rather waste your time than a GPs in case it is a stupid one!

I had a miscarriage in December and I just got my period yesterday, first one since November - woke up this morning with a twinge of a UTI, developed pver the course of the day and now I'm doubled over in the mix of period cramps, back pain, and UTI pain

Do you reckon it's connected? Maybe my body getting back to normal and the change in PH due to my period messing up my urinary tract?

I am probably being paranoid and just desperate to feel normal again after a horrendous few months, but just wanted to ask what you thought before I phone my GP - I'm loath to use their resources if I can sort it myself

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I was the opposite- UTI at 4 weeks pregnant with both my pregnancies, but same logic of hormones etc potentially disrupting things.

id just drop in a sample for them to test. Better to know.

Hi, anyone who has ever had a UTI , please listen to this brilliant new podcast on chronic urinary tract infections (CUTIS). I highly recommend it if you're wanting to learn more about the little know topic of CUTIs. Its brilliantly researched and a really important topic everyone should be aware of!
