HPV and borderline cell changes

I’m already under gynaecology and am booked in for a hysterectomy in 10 days time after years of issues, I had a failed hyteroctopy a few weeks ago where they also did a smear, I was booked in for hysterectomy because my symptoms were concerning (possibly uterine cancer) and because they were unable to take biopsy I was put forward as an urgent case. I had been mentally preparing myself for surgery when a could days ago my smear results came back as positive for HPV with borderline cell changes. I have a colcoscopy tomorrow and if they see anything suspicious a biopsy will be taken. If they take a biopsy my surgery will be put back a week or 2 (not what I want).

Google keeps telling me that borderline changes is unlikely to be cancer? So I don’t understand why they are threatening to put my surgery back or why I even need any tests of my cervix is being removed in 10 days anyway?

So is there a chance I have cervical cancer? Is it highly unlikely? Will they be able to tell from just looking at my cervix tomorrow? And what does it matter if I’m having a full hysterectomy anyway?

sorry for all the questions, very stressed after having the C word mentioned several times in the past few weeks.

Borderline changes are pre cancerous cells but I have no idea why they're worried about that if they're going to remove everything anyway .

That’s what I don’t understand, they are saying they might have to cancel my surgery if they need to wait for biopsy results but why does it matter if my cervix is coming out anyway? It’s just making what’s been a stressful time even more stressful.
