Hi! So for coming up to 10 years I’ve had pain down there. Inside my vagina, on my vulva and also my clitoris. I’ve been back and forth to GPs and gynaecologists and I feel like I’m hitting a brick wall as I’m getting no where with them.

I’ve been diagnosed with a prolapsed pelvic floor, not severe, but enough to notice and cause bladder issues. Also in the process of being diagnosed with possibly endometriosis too.
I’ve also only had one partner in my life, so no STIs, or anything like that.

I cannot be intimate anymore, as the pain inside is awful and the sharp pain I get in my clitoris is excruciating. I cannot work out what is wrong with me, but it’s starting to get me down. It affected my relationship and it ended due to this and has made me so self conscious that I’ll never find anyone again, or enjoy that intimate side with someone.

I have to wear liners daily due to the prolapse and bladder issue that comes with it so I thought it could be that irritating my clitoris, but I can’t not wear them due to then having incontinence issues. But then I was told it couldn’t be that, but had no other advice. I just keep getting told “everything looks normal down there” when clearly it isn’t though as I’m in so much pain every day :(

I just want to understand why I’m so broken down there and how to fix it :/
Has anyone else had this problem? Did you get it sorted, or get some good advice from any professionals?

Have you been offered Vagifem pessaries or oestrogen cream? As you get older the skin down there gets thinner & easily damaged by clothes rubbing, walking, skin on skin rubbing. I was having bladder problems with incontinence, I've been on vagifem for 10 days now & have only had one accident in the last week.

Could the pain be related to the pelvic floor? I get a dreadful achey/tugging/bruised feeling in all of those areas at times when my pelvic floor is struggling. It is helped by ibuprofen now, but after birthing my children it took many months (years after the first one) to be able to stand or walk for any time without that pain and ibuprofen didnt hit the sides at that point. It still flares back up on the worst day of my period.

This. Also ask about a specific medication for nerve pain. Amitriptylene or pregabalin for example.
