I'm 55 and tested HPV positive last year. I would make an appointment with your doctor and talk to them x big hugs x

Not exactly the same as I am older (42), I have cysts which has been linked to adenomyosis, my main symptoms are pelvic pain and heavy bleeding. Yesterday my smear came back with abnormal cells. I was already booked in for a hysterectomy (due to years of issues and a failed biopsy of my uterus). I now have to have a colposcopy on Thursday to possibly take a biopsy of my cervix.

Of course I have been on google but it seems most of us carry HPV at some point, I’m not sure if mine is HPV as I wasn’t really listening when I was told my results yesterday as I was already attending hospital regarding my surgery (I will ask more on Thursday).

Cysts in the uterus are often a sign of adenomyosis, there are ways to treat it in younger people who want to go onto have children, it’s similar to endometriosis.

I know it’s hard to say “don’t panic” and “all will be ok” but it’s unlikely you will be pushed to have a hysterectomy as I’m sure there are several other options in someone so young.

But I totally get how scared you are as I am in a similar position, not knowing what’s going on is very stressful.
