Successful cold sore regime to share

To any fellow sufferers....

I used to get a lot of coldsores but hadn't had one in a few years so didn't have any remedies in. A red spot appeared Monday morning. Came up Monday and iced it as much as poss and applied Zovirax but it came through with a vengence Tuesday morning.

About the size of a 5p and yellow/white. So painful my teeth hurt. Glands up, headache and that burning feeling.

Ordered some Lysine tablets and Lysine lip balm on Amazon same day evening delivery.

Took tablets 3 today and read on here to apply Bonjela (normal one) and rotated that with the lysine lip balm. Also took some vitamin C 1000mg.

Low and behold the yellow has gone, it's turned red, it's nearly flat and no pain at all. So 2 days after it came up. Can't really feel it. Has shortened it by a few days I reckon.

Now saving these in a medicine bag for future use!

Sorry, that should read 2 Lysine tablets. One last night and one this morning.

I take lysine as a routine preventive. Barely have an outbreak anymore and when I do, they are much less severe.

Yes I take lysine daily too. I just wish they'd make the tablets smaller!

I do this too! It really works. Where did you get the lip balm? I used to get the pots from Holland and Barrett which I liked because I used a cotton buds to apply then binned so no spread risk. They don't do it anymore and I'm down to half a pot and another with a tiny bit in.
I also agree the tablets are huge

They are huge tablets! But miracle ones if you have cold sores. I used to suffer so much and now occasionally get one that doesn't 'develop' beyond the sore skin
