Bleeding belly button

Does anyone have any experience of this? Should I be concerned?

I noticed before bed yesterday evening that my belly button was leaking blood. Not like dripping leaking, just enough to go onto my clothes. It was clearly red/pink, so new blood. This has never happened before.

Not sure if It’s relevant, but I am currently fighting a virus.

TIA

Do you have endometriosis? This can be a symptom.

Thank you for replying. I don’t have endometriosis. I mean, I’ve never been diagnosed with it - I’m mid 30s with children.

The only reason I mentioned it is because I’ve just been diagnosed at 51 and didn’t know a bleeding belly button was a symptom of endo until I joined a few support groups and notice a few ladies talking about it.
Obviously, not to say yours is endo, it’s probably just an infection. You could always ask your pharmacist about it, I’m finding them more helpful than GPs atm!

@Flowersinthewateringcan That’s really interesting. I didn’t realise you could get it after having children.
Were there any other symptoms that you had that went along side the bleeding bellybutton? Come to think of it, I have been having really awful period cramps in my lower back and front but I don’t get periods because I have the implant. It’s definitely been happening in the last six months.
