Underactive Thyroid?

Does anyone have this? I’m getting symptoms which might be related, the main one is feeling cold nearly all the time. I have muscle aches too & have been struggling to sleep some nights because of muscle cramps in my limbs. It’s horrible. Going to the docs tomorrow am.

I’ve actually had it since birth, congenital hypothyroidism.

Yes I have it, I’ve been diagnosed for 15 years.

I get fatigue, am cold a lot particularly hands/feet, put on weight fast, brain fog, body/facial hair etc.

Im on a relatively high dose of levothyroxine, 125mg daily.

If you do get prescribed, make sure you take it first thing and wait 30 mins before any food/caffeine/dairy. I didn’t work this out for years and it really affected the absorption.

It’s rubbish but not the worst. The upside is free prescriptions for life!

I have it, diagnosed 5 years ago my symptoms were: hair falling out, brain fog, fatigue, weak/sore joints (namely wrists and ankles), feeling generally shitty like I was constantly doped up.

When I got put on thyroxine, the brain fog reduced a lot, and so did the fatigue. I still suffer from weak joints and unfortunately, my hair loss has went on for too long for it to be corrected now. The GP fobbed me off for years telling me my vitamin levels were low and prescribing me allsorts, which of course did nothing. It was another gp who tested my thyroid (for fertility issues) and spotted the under active thyroid.
