Any idea - can’t get through to the secretary

Please can anyone shed any light on this..

Had an MRI in December, gynae follow up in Jan.

Was told I needed a CT with contrast. Had that three weeks ago; the follow up is next week.
I then received an invitation to sign up to patient portal and I accepted - looked on it and saw that I have got yet another follow up in four weeks time, after my appointment next week.
Wondered if this was a mistake- called the gynae outpatient who confirmed that there was indeed two appointments on the system but advised me to call the secretary to find out why.
I must have called them on and off for the past few days- no answer.

Backstory: I had surgery five months ago and at my last appointment in January following the MRI there was talk of either a surgical ablation or a hysterectomy, hence the Ct scan a few weeks back.

Can anyone shed any light on why there could be two appointments that are so close together. I am worried .

If you’re leaving phone messages and not being called back can you email as it has a more obvious trail. I once was unable to get an NHS secretary’s email address from switchboard but the consultant’s secretary for his private practice gave it to me. Hope all goes well for you

Look up your consultant on the hospital's website. You might find the secretary works for several consultants and her email address might be on the webpage. If not, if you know her name, you might be able to work out the email address from the format used for that hospital.

Just this week, I have had difficulty contacting a secretary by phone with her phone going to a full mailbox. The appointment department would not give out her email address (some hospitals don't and this one does not even put the secretary's email address on follow-up letters), but the appointments clerk did email the secretary for me marked "Urgent" and between the three of us, I was able to resolve the issue.
