Merina coil 8 years now

I have had a merina coil for 5 years, it was due to expire so I called up and they said it’s now licensed for 8 years!

Im obviously relived not to have to have it changed but a little apprehensive too just in case it runs out and they have made a mistake! Anyone else been told, feel the same?

It’s been known for years that they can stay in a lot longer than 5. The licence will have had to go through rigorous checks to be extended.

I love my coil but f me getting it changed is horrific. Glad to be able to delay it!

Oh this is great news... had a year left on mine! Will obviously check when the time comes but I'm sure it's fine OP if that's what you've been told.

I felt that mine started to run out after 5 (bleeding returned). The Doctor poo-poo'd any chance of pregnancy (I'm late 40s) but that worry felt real to me as it really would be an utter disaster for us at this time of life.

I had mine changed last year (Nov) I was told the new one would need to be changed after 6 years.

Honestly ladies, I’m so happy to not have to go through that for another few years!! Was dreading it tbh!

I love my coil! When they work they are fantastic!!

I will keep an eye on things for sure! I’m 34 but with a 14 yr old so would absolutely not want to go back to the start again!
