Lower left abdomen pain

A few days ago I experienced a severe pain in my lower left abdomen. It was such an intense pain I felt sick and thought I would pass out - this last perhaps 10 to 15 minutes. Since then I still have pain, it feel a bit like I've been kicked really hard, and over a few days it's gradually easing and hurting less. This is actually the third time this has happened to me!
I wonder if this is an ovarian cyst bursting, either that, or something wrong in the lower bowel.
The first and second time it happened I went to see the GP but did not get anywhere, was not sent for any test and was told to come back when it was actually happening (both times was unable to get an appointment for a few days). This time I didn't bother.
Does anyone have knowledge of this, anyone experienced cyst bursting and recognise the description? With the GPs lack of concern I feel I should also not be concerned, but then the pain at the time was truly awful.

Call 111 and seek their advice.

I don't feel I can use the 111 service. I did look in their website but it says it's to get help if you need it now, whereas my pain is easing. I just wondered if anyone had experienced the same and could give me any clarity.
