Hey! I’ve post a couple time before about TTC and irregular period…
Bit of a background, I have a daughter who is 3 in April she was born by emergency c-section and she was conceive first month of trying I can’t remember what my periods were like before her because I was on the pill from 16-21 I think they was normal. I went straight back on the pill at my 6 week doctors appointment so would of been around June 2021 I decided to come off the pill in December 2022 to give my body a break since coming off my periods have been irregular between 28-49 days (I say 28 that’s only been one time)
We decided to start trying in October but no success then this month (4th month trying) I started trying ovulation using sticks I never got my positive and ran out on cycle day 31 I’m now on cd 41 and just started my period so that means that I either didn’t ovulate or I ovulated after I ran out of sticks but that would of made my luteal phase very short.
I am on the wait list for gynaecologist cause I also my painful sex since having my daughter. I’ve had 1 blood test and ultrasound both normal.

Any advise please? I’m 25 normal weight.

No advice re the short LP but could you have PCOS?

I have it but have a friend who had it but didn’t find out until TTC her second and needed clomid. She’d obviously just gotten lucky with ovulation for her first and second round of clinic worked for her.

I don’t ovulate so need clomid to conceive.

TTC is a minefield

@Anxiousmum09 i didn’t think that reading up on symptoms and stuff but I’ve had ultrasound and blood test that have both come back normal so I don’t think I could have PCOS 🤷🏼‍♀️

True that would show up on ultra sound. I’ve had done brands of OPKS show negative and others show positive on the same tribe sample so they are definitive.
you could go this month and ask for a blood test to check for ovulation.

I can’t remember the days ovulation should show on a blood test but as my cycles were extremely irregular I went for a blood test every 3 days after day 21 (I think it was day 21) until my period came.

your gp can do that with the bloods and it’s be great to have that before seeing the gynae. Seen as you on CD1 now again get on to your gp.

My bloods were negative for ovulation so I was referred to a gynae and then when I saw her, she did another Ultrasound and was happy to proceed to put me on clomid at my first visit which did the trick.

I had very painful sex after my second baby. Ended up I was low on oestrogen, blood test showed that up.
