Provera for delaying period

I tried to buy Norehisterone from an online pharmacy to delay my next period (due in the middle of a holiday) but they said this was not suitable for me & advised Provera instead

This is apparently not licensed for this purpose so may be less effective

Does anyone have any experiences of using this drug for this purpose?
If so did you have any side effects & did it work well to stop the bleeding?

thanks in advance!

What made norethisterone unsuitable?

History of hypertension in pregnancy & migraines with aura meant they wouldnt prescribe the norethisterone

The reviews online were generally poor for effectiveness (ie period still came)

I had really horrible headaches & acne with the mini pill, Im wondering if Im likely to end up with the same from this & be miserable the entire time anyway!

Or do I let my very heavy, very painful period ruin my holiday 😒

I used Provera to delay my period. I took it as I was meant to and it worked up until the last day of my holiday even though I was taking it properly, so all in all about 10 days which was good enough. I just wanted to get through my wedding and most of my holiday without my period!
