I suffer from it really badly. For a week before I’m due on, while I’m on and a little bit during ovulation. Horrible intrusive thoughts, anxiety, depression. It’s just a horrible time in my life. I’m due on again in 2 weeks and the thought of ‘that time’ arriving is making me feel sick. I have the copper coil and it has started since having that. Is there anything a doctor can prescribe to help the symptoms or I’ll even have the coil removed and go on something else

Just to add I’m already taking Sertraline (not for this)

If it's just started since having the copper coil. I would suggest having it removed? (not sure if that's a good idea, depending why you had it fitted in the first place). If the PMDD stops, great.
If the PMDD continues, maybe consider herbal remedies. Ashwagandha, agnus castus and rhodiola rosea all have good online reviews from PMS/PMDD sufferers.
Also consider upping vit D, calcium and magnesium.

It may be best to go back to the GP and discuss it with them?

Wishing you the best of luck - hope you find a solution!

ive had exactly the same experience!
I had a copper coil fitted years ago and it was great. After having many years break from any form of contraception and having a baby I decided it was time to get back on some form of contraception so I chose to go for a copper coil due to having a good experience with it years ago.
i has it fitted 20th December 2023 and I had it taken out today, my periods have been unbearable, I started feeling low and depressed, fatigued and more worryingly constant heart palpitations
The copper coil is the only thing I could pin point all of this to as before it was fitted I felt absolutely fine! It wasn’t a decision I took lightly to have it removed as I’d paid privately to have it fitted as the waiting list on the NHS was very long but I couldn’t bear feeling like that anymore
