Perimenopause?

Im 40. Over the last 3 years or so my cycle length got shorter and more regular and all my pms symptoms were very predictable.

the last 3 months I haven’t had a proper period just constantly spotting in a range of colours. Other symptoms are constantly sore breasts and really bad constipation with no changes to my diet. Also I seem to be really feeling the cold.

has anyone else had this in Perimenopause?

Do you have a family history of early menopause? I would probably visit the GP after 3 months just to be on the safe side.

It's reasonable to assume you may be the same, but best to get a professional opinion I think just to be safe.

At 40s, progesterone level may tank first while estradiol is still hanging high. That's why you have a shorter cycle because progesterone helps lengthen the cycle, not to get a full period. Breast tenderness comes from estradiol. I would ask any hormone doctors to check those levels and balance it out by either increasing progesterone or helping metabolize the estrogen depending on how your liver is detoxing.
