Prep for smear.. pessary v moisturiser?

Last time i had my smear it was so painful due to post meno dryness. Burning like in labour!

i was given vaginal pesseries but even though I know that they are quite low hormone , I prefer a natural product if possible. A friend told me about the yes yes yes natural vag moisturiser , and gp prescribed as alternative.

does anyone know if the two products work the same . Ie give moisture only ( or do the hormones do something extra or anything) ?!

am terrified re my next - overdue - smear and wonder if the moisture stuff is enough? Works the same ?

The hormones do extra, but not immediately.
They are such a low dose - my understanding is that it is the equivalent of one HRT dose per year, so it's really worth it (made a huge difference to me).

I would use the HRT pessaries, they are such a low dose and VA does get worse in time.

You can use Estrogen pessaries and the Yes moisturiser together.
