HRT at 30?

Hi all

I have tried a few different medications to suppress/stop periods. Basically they're horrible and come with a lot of menopausal symptoms. With that in mind, would a doctor prescribe me HRT patches at 30?

There are two different types, so not the one specifically for menopause. There is one that can basically give a 'breakthrough bleed' while suppressing the symptoms.

I know I could ring my GP and ask but I feel like I'm torturing the man lol!

TIA

The short answer is no. You’re not perimoneopausal.

What HRT are you referring to?

If you want cycle control there are quite a few options, none of them HRT though.

Sorry it is cyclical HRT patches I'm referring to.

Yes I have tried a few different options, birth control, norethisterone. The implant and coil I cannot have.

Why can’t you have the implant or coil?

I’d be very surprised if they would prescribe you cyclical HRT. It won’t suppress ovulation and so you might still have breakthrough bleeding. You’d potentially also need contraception. It’s also licensed for relief of menopausal symptoms and not cycle control or suppression of menstruation.
