Has anyone had a hysteroscopy with local anaesthetic?

If you had one with a local, what was your experience like? I am out of my mind terrified about it. Even the thought of an injection into your cervix sounds bloody horrific. And I think that will only numb my cervix, so would I still feel the poking about in my womb?

Yes, with no anesthetic (or maybe some numbing gel, but def no injection).
I won't say it was pleasant but it was uncomfortable rather than painful. Try not to worry too much.

I had one…

They initially attempted it with no anaesthetic and I basically leapt off the table in pain when they tried.

I didn’t feel the injection, and had to wait a few mins for it to take affect but then the procedure was fine.

I did feel a bit lightheaded getting dressed afterwards so needed a sit down before I could leave but it was fine

And I got a lovely pic of my innards..!

I’ve had 2. One under GA and the other one under local. My experience under local anaesthesia was not a pleasant one. It was excruciatingly painful. I have undergone a number of gynaecological procedures and this was the worst pain I’ve experienced.

Actually I just remembered I’ve had three OP. 2 of them were under LA. The 2nd time I had it done under local anaesthesia it wasn’t as bad as the first. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s down to the skill of the person who is doing it or the level of pain relief given.

I have, but definitely would have gone back later and had a general anaesthetic if I had known how painful it would be. That was offered but I was worried how long I might have to wait.

I had mine with only numbing gel. Uncomfortable but not unbearable. Period type cramping afterwards.
