Sudden bleeding - could it be HRT?

Hello all,

I've not had a period for over 10 years, but started on HRT (gel, evening pill and vaginal pill too) about 3 months ago. Have just been to the loo and noticed that I'm bleeding. It seems like quite a lot. Other than this I've had nothing except a very tiny bit of spotting maybe a week or so ago.

Have rung GP and they've made me an appointment face to face for conversation on Thursday morning. In the meantime, I'm wondering whether this can be normal. I'm certainly not freaking out about it, but TBH did think one of them might just speak to me on the phone about it today.

Hmmm... Google suggests this can be normal in the first few months after starting, so hopefully it's nothing. Wondering whether to cancel the appointment now, but maybe I'll leave it in case the bleeding continues.

Please don't cancel your appointment. Get it checked just to be sure. Don't leave it.

Thanks @stepfordwifey ❤️ I decided today not to cancel the appointment as it seems to be getting heavier. It's prolly nothing but at the same time it could be, so better see them since they've been good enough to offer an appointment. I'd have been happy with a phone conversation.

You haven't just had a Covid vaccine have you? I got a period (post meno) after getting the moderna vaccine Confused

Hi @CrackSpackle, and thanks for the suggestion. No, though - no recent vaccine.

For the benefit of anyone who might be having a similar situation, I saw the GP today. She was lovely! Anyway, we've agreed that I'll continue with the HRT for now as the six months won't be up until the end of March. However, she also suggested increasing my Levo dose from 25 to 50 daily (I started that at the same time as HRT), as she says my levels back in December were still not quite right. If that leads to an improvement it might be worth me getting off the HRT.
