Smear test results

Just after a little knowledge if anyone has as I couldn't get an appointment with the dr today to discuss. I got my first smear test in 2022 which came back positive for high risk HPV, got my recall smear in June last year which also came back positive for high risk HPV but not enough cells to check for cells changes so I had to get another done 3months later to check for the cells changes. So I had this done and just got the letter through saying that no HPV was found and no changes to cells but I’ve to get another smear test in a year again. Obviously happy with this result but I’m confused, does this mean that the high risk HPV has cleared on its own within 3 months? Also am I invited to another smear in a year to check that the HPV hasn’t returned as here in the UK if you have no HPV it’s a return 3-5 years later?

Hey, I have something similar to you. I have my yearly smear test booked in tomorrow. I had abnormal results 20 years ago, after I had them every year for 10 years because they was clear it changed to 3 years. This was until 2021- all three years have been clear they haven't said why. Infact the nurse who did it last year said there is no notes to why I have them yearly again. Hopefully tomorrow I will find out but also baffled by this.

Sorry that may not be very helpful, but hopefully tomorrow I can give you a better answer.
