Hi everyone so I was on the depo for 14 years been off it now 19 months I have had normal periods the last 3 months about 21 days apart. But the last 3 times I have had intercourse with my partner I have had this dark red/brown come from me last for the rest of the day then seems to be non existing the next day no aches no pains during intercourse or afterwards. I'm not having vaginal dryness but rather much the opposite we have been trying for baby for the last year but so far no joy. Has anyone else had this I have for a doctors appointment next week and still waiting for my internal scan thanks

Have you had regular smears?

I used to get spotting between periods when on the pill due to a cervical ectropian (?) - sore patch on cervix - but not necessarily linked with sex and much less than that.

Secondstart1001 · 24/01/2024 23:45

Go to the doctors. That is way too much blood….sorry I don’t mean to alarm you but that’s worrying, good job you took a picture.
are you up to date with your smears?

G3mzy · 24/01/2024 23:48

Yeah I do I had the leep procedure done about 14 years ago had most of my cervix burnt away. Every 3 months for a year I was tested and then it went to 6 months to yearly. Iv only been 3 yearly for last 2 my last one is less than 2 years ago. Only had proper periods for last 3 months after coming off depo 3 months ago the doctor thought I could of been menopausal due to just brown spotting for about 2 months x

Definitely go to the doctors. That's a lot of blood.

Hay all thanks for the messages I got into the doctors this morning it was caused by a polyp which I'm being referred to for removal. Looking at it online would explain some of the reason as to my being able to get pregnant as they can cause infertility x

Thank you for your reply. I did have an app for a weeks time but I was more worried and stressed so got in today due to having the cervix procedure done years ago I know my last smear was normal but it doesn't stop you thinking the worst. I'm kinda glad I know it's a polyp but I'm also upset and scared at having to have another procedure done down there. X

Hi

Just wanted to say when you fo fall pregnant, please ask for cervical measurements and INSIST that you've head a procedure done.

I don't want to scare you but inform rather that some women find their cervical length decreasing during pregnancy due to pressure.

I didn't have any procedures done yet I had trouble holding onto baby and needed help to keep ky cervix shut.

So it's more important for those who've had any surgeries to tell someone asap when you conceive so you can have the appropriate support.
You've to be your advocate.

Best wishes, op x

(I just wanted you to know incase you didn't x)

Thank you for telling me that sleeping angel I did wonder if I'd need anything extra if I ever did fall pregnant as I had cervix burnt away 14 years ago and told every time at smears my cervix is very minimal now an then I'll have this polyp removal procedure on top. So far we've not had any luck with positive tests so hoping for future after removal x

I didn’t want to worry you but I had an erosion on my cervix when I was about 28. Had it removed, bleeding stopped and went on to have two children though I know what I had was different. Hopefully it is minor surgery, when I had my procedure I went home same day x

G3mzy · 26/01/2024 15:05

This one is meant to be a same day I don't think it's very big she had to remove some yukky discharge to reveal it. X

No problem x

Just keep it in mind so you can let your midwife know and can be consultant led to keep an eye on things.

Best wishes x

Hi everyone so I went for my transvaginal scan today she said I had quite a large cyst over left ovary and I had ovulated (not sure when) but she couldn't see my uterus floor and she wasn't sure why said she'd put all I got back to gp an best to have another scan in a few months see what's happened with cyst. She didn't mention cus they had seen a polyp by cervix could it be that but I am waiting on a gynaecologist referral to check out the polyp situ. I'm just confused why she couldn't see my uterus also I'm due on in 2-3 days still actively trying for baby but no luck so far so expecting period. Thanks
