What does a breast cyst feel like?

I've an appointment this week at the breast clinic to investigate a breast lump. I'm starting to freak out a little.
Lump is large and smooth and oval in shape. Not rock hard but not soft or squishy either.. maybe a little mobile:
Does this sound familiar to anyone.. I'm very anxious all of a sudden

@Crazycrazylady - this is me today! Been referred to clinic but not sure of wait times. Just been reading old posts - how did you get on?

Yes that’s exactly what my cyst felt like. Oval, firm rubbery texture, slightly mobile but only a bit. Confirmed as a cyst via biopsy.

Oh and it was about 1.5cm in length - the size of a grape.

I had this last Monday, mine was like this but about the size of a large bean. Had an ultrasound on Thursday and it was glandular/hormonal breast tissue. Good luck x

Reassuring to hear cases that turned out to be nothing sinister. Did any of you experience pain with it?

Charlingspont · 22/04/2024 19:21

Yes this is what mine felt like. Size of a Cadbury's mini egg. It didn't hurt, but I think I may have had one that burst before, and that did hurt.

My sister had breast cancer. The lump was hard and didn't move at all. Hopefully yours is ok OP

Mine was fairly soft, smooth and moved around. Confirmed yesterday at breast clinic and swiftly drained with a very large syringe! Consultant was quite positive it was a cyst just from feeling it and was confirmed to be that with mammogram and ultrasound
mine was painless when I touched it but I’m certain it was what had been causing some pain in my armpit as that seems to have gone too
