Twelve months ago I ended up at A and E with acute right sided pain. No one had a clear idea if what it was but had a CT scan which showed an ovarian cyst. Discharged and then had an MRI scan of insides. Met with consultant who said it was a benign ovarian cyst and I'm on the waiting list for an operation. No clue when operation will be. Had consultation booked for October which was cancelled and rebooked by the hospital for June this year. A key factor in being low priority was the blood tests which indicated whatever the test for cancer is the levels were normal. Last week saw GP about bleeding. I'm post menopause and they freaked. Booked on for another CT next week. But today the GP rang to say that the blood tests hadn't been done properly by the lab. So I need them done again. So the low levels of cancer marker tests hadn't been done. I'm completely beside myself. Imagining all sorts of things. That's it's cancer and I have had it for a while year. I know I need to calm down but I'm so upset.

Flowers I would be as panicked as you, although having had a CT and MRI that showed cysts would help a little. Did the consultant not do any additional bloods? I’m hoping for you that it’s a case that the GP bloods -that are sent directly back to them- were not done properly but that hospital bloods -that are returned to the ordering consultant- were done and were okay. Im sorry you’ve been put in this position, someone really should have noticed. I hope all turns out to be okay for you.

Have you still got pain? Hang on to the scans you've had.
Is there anyway thry can fact track your bloods and also the appt delayed from October.
It's not going yo help but try not worry. Xx

Thank you for your comments. No one seems to know what the bloods situation is. I think I'm just cross because before I saw the consultant in June last year I was worried that the cyst may be cancer. Then they told me it wasn't now I'm back at oh no, what is actually wrong with me. On the plus side both scans are normal for all the bits they scanned. GP apparently had the second scan results. Just no one had told me. Also GP did a bit of delvibg about last week and that was all normal too. But, there's still this little lingering doubt in my mind.
