Hi,

I have been having bad pelvic pain, bloating, acid reflux and lack of appetite for over a week now. The pain feels like it is 'women' related rather than abdomen, and doesn't go away with otc painkillers.

I am peri, and have history of fibroids, and recently went onto hrt.

The symptoms of fibroids can be similar to that of ovarian cancer, but the pelvic pain is not something I have experienced before, so am quite concerned.

If it was you, would you make an appointment with the Nurse practitioner, who specialises in women's health, or push for a more urgent Dr's appointment?

Thanks for reading

I think it’s probably the HRT, how long have you been on it?

Thanks for the reply.

That's the thing, I took myself off hrt a month ago as made me feel worse.......I was a bit reluctant to try it due to the fibroids as know they feed off oestrogen, but hoped it would help with the sleeping (which it didn't - I know I should have given it longer.....but just felt very uncomfortable on it)

You need magnesium glycinate for sleep, and a good bedtime routine.

The Women's Health specialist. I've just been through similar, she passed her recommendation through to Dr for action and I now have a gynae appointment on Friday. That's one week from seeing her.

She told me to always go to her for women's stuff, as the doctors are either male or if female, too young to understand or have experience of peri/meno issues.

Thanks for that, that was my gut feeling too! Hope you are ok and your appt helps xx
