Post - Colposcopy Worries

Hoping someone wise can put my mind at ease!

I had my second colposcopy done on Friday to take cervical cells for biopsy. Had this procedure previously in 2021 and was absolutely fine, got up and walked out and went back to work, minimal bleeding for a couple of days and that was it.

This time has been horrific. Got up and felt like I was going to pass out, been dizzy intermittently since. Tried to go back to work and got sent home. Had no appetite since, have barely eaten, trying to keep drinking. Bleeding fairly heavily and temperature has been up and down, feeling chilled at times. Having horrific stomach and leg cramps. Was worried about infection but surely it would be too soon for these symptoms? Has anyone had a similar experience?

Hi! I’m so sorry you’ve gone through this again. I’ve literally had one this evening. I was told if I felt unwell then to contact the clinic or doctor as you might have an infection - I was told it can be quite common because of the area it is. Get yourself checked out even if you have to go to A&E. good luck x
