what can stop periods

Long story short, my periods are awful. The hormones that come with it each month are very similar to menopause.

I've been in for bloods, smears, swabs, everything. Everything is fine, but around 2 weeks out of the month my hormones are just crazy. So what my question is, can periods be stopped without the use of contraception ie, pills/coils/ all of that.

I am sterilised so baby days are over. So no need to be on time or keep an eye on cycles etc.

I just need something to stop hormones working at that time of the month. But I really don't want to take any pills etc.

TIA.

Oh my, I will follow this thread because I have the same problem or similar problems with bad hormonal acne and is a nightmare because I have tried everything but no luck and I am thinking and looking for a safe way to stop periods but unfortunately, I can't even take contraception for medical reasons so I am stuck walking around with acne like a teenager at 41 😭😭😭😭😭

Mirena coil is the best way

Somerandomgirl · 20/01/2024 20:08

Its impossible to alter hormones without actually taking anything for it? One of the coils had no hormones in it is it the mirena...

Look up the Royal College of Gynaecologists PMS guidance.

There is an injection that stops your ovaries from producing hormones. It does however bring on the menopause.

Mirena coil - small dose of progesterone localised to the uterus. Or a Zoladex injection each month. It is painful and you’ll be menopausal in minutes. So to speak.

There is nothing that will stop periods that doesn’t involve pills, potions, injections or devices. Except a hysterectomy.
