Hello, so I went to the bathroom and found this in my pad today. Does anyone know what it could be? I’ve never had a blood clot this big ever. For some context, I recently got the birth control injection in December and about two weeks ago started bleeding and having the worse cramps of my life. I thought it was just my entire uterus lining but then my boyfriend suggested maybe a miscarriage? Im not sure though and thought I would ask here if anyone has ever had anything similar? Thanks.

Oh blooming heck OP! 😳

It does look rather, er, fleshy to say the least. I don’t think it’s just a blood clot. Could possibly be a LOT of congealed blood + uterine lining perhaps? Or, as your partner says, maybe a miscarriage. I’d probably take the picture to my GP to be certain, if it’s really going to nag at you (it would me!)

I would Google ‘decidual cast’ and see if you find similarities - I think it’s a possibility.

I'm possibly pre peri and getting increasingly large clots, far bigger than yours, gp isn't concerned at all. Mine are dark red.

My MC tissue was pink like yours. So I'm no help! I'd show the gp just to be safe. Was your period late? But is that normal on injection?

A decidual cast is when your uterine lining—called the decidua—sheds all at once. When this happens, you will pass a uterus-shaped mass through your vagina. While the sight of the decidua can be frightening because it is bloody, fleshy, and may look like an organ, decidual casts are not harmful.

That looks like Pics I've seen of decidual casts. Nothing to worry about I don't think
