Hyperthyroidism

Hi all,

is anyone here diagnosed with hyperthyroidism?

I feel that I meet all of the symptoms… I am tired and lethargic, though this could be as a result of severe insomnia that I’ve been exp in the last 3 weeks. I occasionally experience night sweats. I also have hair on my chin / jaw line, and lately bleeding gums.

I have read online about it and I’m waiting for my surgery to call me back to book an appt but just wanting to chat to others who have it.

Sounds like hypo rather than hyper in your case. Hope you get sorted!

Yes! I was absolutely exhausted but put it down to being a new mum (first diagnosed in early 20s - resolved and was able to stop all meds 2 years later. I’m early 30s now). I read when I was pregnant there could be a reoccurrence after I had my baby and thought it wouldn’t happen. I’m not sure when it started but 2 (ish) months ago I was just exhausted and one night sat watching tv I noticed my heart was beating fast (115 bpm when my resting bpm is usually early 70s). Also thought my swift pregnancy weight loss was just down to luck and lots of moving around. I lost the pregnancy weight with a month and lost another 14lbs on top of that. Got a blood test and hey presto…. I’m doing much better on the meds but my tsh is still < 0.01 😬
