hi everyone i am new to this site i wanting a bit of advice if i can i am 53 years old and i have fibroids my periods have been awful this last7 months but got worse at the beginning of december i ended up in hospital on xmas day dure to heavy bleeding and clotting they took blood out of me and tried to stop the bleeding they gave me txa acid to stop clotting and norethisterone to slow the bleeding down it works for so long but i still get the clotting not as much now but i do bleed everyday i m on my 7th week and its not good i have a pelvic ultasound scan coming up in jan at the end of the month my docs had to give me somemore of them tablets to help me cause with out them i would be back to square 1 clotting and bleeding as anyone ever experice this as it is quiet scary ty x

That does sound scary. When did they find the fibroids?

was last year in jan

they wanted me to take the pill but i had to come of it now they want me to have a coil fitted i dont know if that will help at all i dont know what to do

I hope it does. Are you on a waiting list to see a gynaecologist? It sounds as though you should be.
Are you taking iron?

i am seeing one in april i am on iron tablets my iron levels are really low cause of this i have to take 2 a day for 6 months

I hope the coil works. Maybe you should ask your gp to try to bring forward your appointment with gynaecologist. It’s along time to be bleeding.

i know i am at docs on monday so hopefully might have a word with them if not i will be phoning them i think maybe they can bring it forward

I had this, including the hospital admissions. I’m afraid to say that nothing worked, until I had a hysterectomy. It was all dragged out for years thanks to all the failed “solutions” I was offered, then all the jumping through hoops and waiting list to get a hysterectomy.

Well I now have to go back to hospital as the clotts are getting worse hopefully they might get this sorted it awful I don't trust going anywhere while this is going on the txa and the norethistone are not helping now I been up all night with this it just awful to live with x

I went into hospital on Saturday cause my bleeding was really bad with clotts they upped my dose on the norethisrone to 2 tablets 3 times a day they did another scan they rushing me through for a hysterectomy cause they had to give me 2 bags of blood cause its the fibroid that was causing the clotting and bleeding only came home yesterday x
