NC as this would out me on my other posts.
I have overactive bladder (OAB). I manage it through food and drink and know what sets it off, so I strictly avoid these foods where I can.
This last week I have been needing the loo (urine) constantly. I have a constant dull urge to go. When I do go, its not just a dribble. There can be either a decent flow or just a small stream. It's not a tiny dribble like I usually have with a UTI. No other burning/blood and I don't have any of the UTI sensations I would usually experience, when I have a full on UTI.
I've just finished a 2 day antibiotic course from Boots online dr (Nitrofurantoin). They have had very little effect and I still have the same symptoms. I know something is amiss as I am awake in the night for the loo, which is unheard of for me.
Could this be a mild UTI ? If I go to my DR I know he will do a dip test, say all is clear - as there is no blood - and prescribe nothing for me. I have a long history of reporting UTIs to the DR, which, looking back now, was probably my OAB. Hence, I feel that when the DR sees my record he will in affect roll his eyes at another suspected UTI by me.
I cannot go on like I have this week. I cannot go anywhere or do anything.
Any advice would be most welcome. TY
