Hi, does anyone know if northisterone work when you have already started bleeding? I'm trying to delay due to a holiday. I can feel the period cramps starting now. I could get some tomorrow at a push.

My DDs have used Norethisterone and I believe you have to start it 3 days before you expect your period to begin if you want to delay a period.

However I've read it can also be used for heavy or prolonged periods and bleeding should stop 24-48hrs after you begin taking it.

Amazing. Thank you if I start tomorrow. Hopefully it will stop or be lighter

I have used it even on the day a period has started and it has stopped the period within a day.
The next period can be a bit miserable though.

A bit off topic but I used this medication to delay a period whilst on holiday . Aside from bleeding I had all my usual period symptoms and felt really yucky . My next period was horrific and it took a few months to settle into a normal cycle again . I felt it wasn't really worth the hassle - but appreciate we are all different etc .
